What is TCI?
One of the first steps our students make as learners is learning to read—the critical step before they begin reading to learn. If they face obstacles in learning to read, they continue to face obstacles to learning—unless we intervene.
Reading is seen as a linguistic task—but reading also requires non-linguistic cognitive skills:

When students struggle with these skills, they struggle to read—and that struggle takes a toll on their confidence, self-esteem, and overall social-emotional wellbeing. Targeted Cognitive Intervention (TCI)
